CLW was commissioned as the waterproofing consultant for the single-storey basement for Phase 2 of the site. The basement was below a 15-storey office building part of this spanned over the existing A38 Queensway Tunnel.
As part of the basement was over and adjacent to the tunnel, careful planning of the waterproofing design was required as movement around this area could be considerable.
CLW worked closely with the entire design team to provide a clear and efficient design for the Grade 2 (in the majority) and some Grade 3 forms of waterproofing, specifying both Type A (pre and post-applied membranes) and Type B (structurally integral) along with post applied slurries and crystalline coatings to achieve this.
